What's special
Graveyard Magic is a single evening class inside Omen, the psychic parlor and witchcraft emporium at 184 Essex Street in downtown Salem, at 9 p.m. on Friday 30 October 2026, the night before Halloween. Its teacher, introduced by the organizer as Author Witchdoctor Utu, takes on what the event page itself calls a taboo subject: magic performed in a graveyard, which the organizer describes as one of the oldest forms of witchcraft. The published highlights run from the history of the practice to how to enter a graveyard at all, working with graves, headstones and monuments, the traditions and superstitions around it, and what you can leave or bring home, down to offerings, sticks, stones and graveyard dirt. The evening ends, in the organizer's words, with a visit to the edge of one of America's oldest graveyards where the spirits of Salem will be honored. It is one of the dated, ticketed evenings of the Festival of the Dead, the October series produced by the Salem warlocks Christian Day and Brian Cain, and it is an 18 and over event
What it costs
One layer: a single ticket. The organizer's own page prints no price and carries only Buy Tickets buttons pointing at its Eventbrite listing, where the one ticket type is $101.22 including fees. The City of Salem advises visitors not to drive into downtown in October, especially at weekends, and this class sits on the Friday evening before Halloween. Paid options are the MBTA station garage and the Museum Place and South Harbor garages, at raised October rates; some lots close entirely on Halloween night
