The experience

What's special

The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF) is one of the largest and most star-studded food events in the country a four-day, 100-plus-event Miami Beach destination festival born in 2002 from a partnership between Food Network and Florida International University's Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Its signature is the beachfront Grand Tasting Village, a sprawling tented gathering of hundreds of chefs, winemakers and brands on the South Beach sand, surrounded by celebrity-chef dinners, beach tastings, themed parties, brunches and late-night events that range from black-tie-polished to full-on beach-party. It is also a major fundraiser, having raised more than $45 million for FIU's hospitality school, with 2027 marking its 25th anniversary

What people love

What attendees enjoy most is the sheer variety the way a single festival can swing from a refined chef-driven wine-pairing dinner one night to standing on the beach with tacos and a cocktail as music plays the next and the volume of top-tier food and drink packed into each event. The Grand Tasting Village is the near-universal highlight, and the lively, drinks-included atmosphere and celebrity-chef access keep repeat visitors planning trips around it. The main practical gripe attendees raise is logistics: with alcohol at most events, late-night rideshares can be a hassle, so regulars advise basing within walking distance of the beach venues

Last time around (2026)

The most recent held edition ran in late February 2026 across Miami Beach and greater Miami, again anchored by the beachfront Grand Tasting Village and more than 100 events spanning celebrity-chef dinners, tastings, brunches and late-night parties, with ticket prices ranging from around $59 to $500-plus for premium experiences and the intimate celebrity dinners ($175-$250) selling out months in advance. Coverage framed it as a polished, wine-forward yet playfully chaotic multi-day immersion. The 2027 edition (February 25-28) is set to mark the festival's 25th anniversary

Miami Beach has a large short-term-rental market, but the city tightly regulates STRs and the festival's late-February slot overlaps peak winter-season Miami tourism expect firm, seasonal-peak pricing.
