The experience

What's special

The South Jersey Celtic Festival and Highland Games is a two-day celebration of Celtic culture held each October at the Burlington County Fairgrounds in Columbus, New Jersey. Produced by the South Jersey Celtic Society with the New Jersey Renaissance Faire, it pairs a Highland Games athletics competition with Irish and Celtic music and dance, pipe and drum bands, whiskey tastings, craft beer, food trucks, axe throwing and Celtic merchants, and it welcomes families and dogs

Last time around (2025)

The 2025 festival was scheduled for October 11 and 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with adult admission of 10 dollars and children 5 dollars. Incoming weather on the Sunday, alongside a state of emergency declared by the Governor, affected the second day

The games

Heavy athletics

The festival stages Highland Games athletics and demonstrations, with open registration for those who want to compete

Pipe bands & Highland dance

Pipe and drum bands play through the weekend alongside live Celtic performances and dance

Taking part

The family and dog friendly festival adds food trucks, axe throwing, whiskey tastings, craft beer and wine, Celtic dancers and merchants across the two days
