The Texas Renaissance Festival bills itself as the nation's largest Renaissance festival: a recreated 16th-century village on a 55-acre open-air site in Todd Mission, northwest of Houston, with more than 400 shoppes, games of skill, human-powered rides, and hundreds of costumed characters giving over 200 performances daily across more than 20 stages. Each of its eight themed weekends, plus Thanksgiving Friday, takes on a different flavor - from Oktoberfest and Pirate Adventure through to Celtic Christmas - and the festival counts over 450,000 visitors across a season. Running since 1974 on a former strip-mine site, it is as much an overnight experience as a day trip: the adjoining Fields of New Market campground supports a long-running camp culture of guilds, fire pits, and late-night revelry alongside the family-focused daytime faire, with 21+ evening programming for adults.

How do I get to Texas Renaissance Festival?
Festival shuttle 1
There is no festival-run shuttle from the airport itself, but two officially listed partner hotels in Magnolia, Executive Inn & Suites and Magnolia Inn & Suites, each about 10-12 minutes south of the grounds, run free shuttles to the festival for their guests on festival weekends. Separately, Visit Conroe's festival page lists I Do Transportation Service, which picks up at each Conroe partner hotel for $20 per person round trip (booked by phone, 936-672-2097). Both options require first getting from the airport to the hotel; they cover the hotel-to-festival leg on event weekends only

George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) is the practical fly-in airport, roughly 55 miles / about an hour's drive southeast of the festival grounds. Taxis are staffed 24/7 at Terminals A, C, and E curbsides, and Uber/Lyft pick up outside baggage claim at Terminals A and C. Todd Mission is a rural site well outside the Houston metro, so a one-way rideshare is a long, mileage-priced trip, and note that on festival days, drop-off and pick-up at the grounds (including Uber and Lyft) is only allowed in the festival's designated zones. Getting a return pickup from rural Todd Mission at night can be unreliable, so many fly-in visitors prefer a rental car or a shuttle-partner hotel

Cost General parking free for cars, buses, and motorcycles; Premium (closest, new for 2026) and Preferred (second closest) are paid upgrades with prices published at purchase, both sell in order of arrival and do not include admission. Handicap parking is free in rows 2-5 nearest the entrance for placard holders and disabled veterans. Prepay via General parking is free with no prepay. Premium and Preferred parking are sold via the festival's own Purchase Parking link and at on-site kiosks (kiosk sales end at 4:00 PM or when full). No overnight parking in the day lots, vehicles left in Festival General Parking after 2 a.m. are subject to towing. Campers park within the campground adjacent to their campsite (rows 1-3 near the festival entrance serve campground day parking). Rideshare and all drop-off/pick-up only in designated areas

Camping passes are sold per vehicle, about $25 online (plus fees and taxes) or $35 at the gate, with dispersed first-come, first-served camping: park adjacent to your campsite, at least 10 feet from roadways, no vehicle traffic after midnight. Every camper also needs a festival ticket for at least one day of the weekend, and kids 12 and under enter the campground free
General camping is dry camping with no hookups, but a limited number of RV slots with water and electric hookups can be reserved in advance (camping@texrenfest.com / 936-218-0972). An RV dump station is available for $25 per use. Inverter-quiet generators are the norm for everyone else
Vans and campers camp under the same per-vehicle camping pass as cars, anywhere in the dispersed general camping areas at least 10 feet from roadways
