The Texas Viking Festival and Skaldic Althing is a winter-solstice Yule celebration held on Valkyrie Ranch, a 500-acre Central Texas wildlife preserve that is also home to Thorin's Viking Brands meadery - the festival's founder-adjacent master Mazer whose meads the event bills among the best in the world. Camping among the oaks is included with every ticket, the marketplace enforces traditional-style tents and hand-painted signage to keep the village looking authentic, and the season closes with a Yule Blot ceremony. Born from a group of renaissance-faire friends aiming to build the largest Norse cultural festival in the USA, it carries an explicit everyone-welcome inclusivity statement.

How do I get to Texas Viking Festival?
By bus 1
No coach stops in Paige itself, but Greyhound serves Giddings (276 N Orange St), about 13 miles east of the ranch on the Houston-Austin US 290 corridor, and the CARTS regional station in Bastrop, about 16 miles southwest. From either stop the final leg to Valkyrie Ranch needs a taxi or pre-arranged ride, rural rideshare availability around Paige is thin, so arrange the pickup ahead of time

Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) is the practical fly-in airport, about 45 minutes west of Valkyrie Ranch. Rideshare and taxi pickup at AUS is at the Consolidated Rental Car Facility just north of the Red Garage, not curbside. The ranch is a rural Bastrop County site on FM 2104 south of Paige, so expect a mileage-priced one-way trip, and be aware that finding a return rideshare pickup from a rural ranch, especially after dark in December, can be slow or unreliable. Most fly-in attendees are better served by a rental car, particularly since camping at the ranch is included with every ticket

Limited RV hookup sites with 30/50-amp power and water can be booked in advance for $150 per night. There is no pump-out service; a hose bib at the entrance fills water tanks. RV/camper boondocking without hookups is included free with any ticket
