What's special
Love Burn is a weekend participatory arts event -- a Burning-Man-style regional burn -- held on Virginia Key Beach in Miami since 2014 and run by The Love Burn, Inc. It is built by participants as a temporary 'mini city' of creativity, community and self-expression, guided by principles inspired by Burning Man's Ten Principles (radical inclusion, gifting, decommodification, radical self-reliance, Leave No Trace and more). Although the organizer stresses it is 'not a music festival,' each year brings theme camps, sound camps, mutant vehicles and art cars, fire performance, workshops, a parade, fireworks and an effigy and community temple burn; the 2027 edition is themed 'Showtime!' and set for February 11-14, 2027. Its defining trait is being an unusually urban 'island' burn, with the Miami skyline as a backdrop and creature comforts (permanent showers, real toilets, power in places) rare among burns. As of 2024, the organizer states Love Burn is no longer affiliated with Burning Man
