What's special
The World of Faeries Festival was an annual weekend faerie festival held the first weekend of August at Vasa Park in South Elgin, pairing music and entertainment with a vendor village and children's and family programming. It was a themed fantasy event - attendees were encouraged to arrive in any fantasy outfit they had - and its marketplace leaned into the whimsical, with vendors selling fairy gardens, wings, witch hats, cloaks, and handmade fantasy wares. The organizers announced in December 2023 that the festival had been discontinued; a separate fairy festival, Faeries of the Forest, now runs at the same Vasa Park venue each summer.
