What's special
The Wyoming State Fair has been held in Douglas since it officially started in 1905, a celebration of the state's agriculture, youth and western way of life with livestock exhibits, 4-H and FFA competitions, the Everyday Ag education program and a carnival. The Ford Grandstand hosts the main events: in 2026 it opened with a Ranch Rodeo and Calcutta pre-show, followed by free WSF Breakaway Roping, two PRCA rodeo nights (Legacy Night and Future Friday) and a Demolition Derby run by the Douglas Volunteer Fire Department. The 2026 fair ran August 11 to 15; the 2027 dates have not been announced.
How it works
Grandstand events are priced one by one: in 2026 the Ranch Rodeo was $10 with children under 12 free, and the Breakaway Roping night was free. Free shuttles loop the fairgrounds, and FFA members drive a free golf-cart taxi for anyone who needs a lift (tips welcome). Visitors with disabilities get complimentary companion passes for the grounds and Grandstand, front-row accessible Grandstand seating and ADA parking behind the Grandstands. Pets stay home: only service animals are allowed in public areas, barns and the midway.
