Buddy Guy (born George Guy, July 30, 1936, in Lettsworth, Louisiana) is an American blues guitarist and singer, regarded as a central figure in the development of Chicago blues. He moved to Chicago in 1957 and recorded for Chess Records, later influencing rock guitarists including Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 and has received multiple Grammy Awards.
