Eric Patrick Clapton (born March 30, 1945, in Ripley, Surrey, England) is an English guitarist, singer, and songwriter, widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in the history of rock. He rose to prominence as a member of the Yardbirds and Cream before establishing a long solo career. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times.
