Bio

Nation of Language is an American synth-pop band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 2016, consisting of Ian Devaney (vocals, synths), Aidan Noell (synths, backing vocals) and Alex MacKay (bass). Devaney started the project after his punk band the Static Jacks broke up and he became hooked on OMD's 1979 single "Electricity." Drawing on early post-punk and new wave, they debuted with Introduction, Presence (2020) and later signed to Sub Pop
