Bio
Jaya Lakshmi is an American kirtan singer, songwriter and producer who began leading kirtan and writing devotional songs on guitar, harmonium and piano in the early 1990s, after receiving harinam initiation from Srila Govinda Maharaj. From 1997 to 2004 she was lead singer and songwriter in the tribal-trance band Lost at Last, which produced three albums, and she went on to release four solo chant albums on Sequoia Records. In 2010 she coined the term Kirtronica for kirtan and mantra sung live over electronic dance music, and between 2011 and 2020 she made eleven further albums released on Sounds True, Spirit Voyage and independently. She has practised hatha-based yoga since 1996 and Kundalini Yoga since 2010, and is certified in Sattva Yoga
