Joe Lovano is an American jazz tenor saxophonist and composer, born in 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio. A prolific Blue Note recording artist known for his adventurous post-bop playing, he won the Grammy for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album for 2000's '52nd Street Themes' and is a longtime Berklee faculty member; the Paramount Quartet is one of his led ensembles.
