Richie Hawtin is a British-Canadian electronic musician and DJ, born in Banbury, England and raised in Ontario, Canada, recognized as a leading figure in minimal techno since the mid-1990s after emerging from Detroit techno's second wave. He records under his own name and the alias Plastikman, co-founded the Plus 8 record label in 1990 with John Acquaviva, and launched M-nus Records in 1998
