Scythian is an American Celtic rock and Americana band based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, formed in 2002 by brothers Alexander and Danylo Fedoryka. The group takes its name from the Scythians, ancient nomads, reflecting the Fedoryka brothers' Ukrainian heritage. The band draws on Celtic, Eastern European, and Appalachian roots traditions and rose from street performing in Alexandria, Virginia, to a wider touring and festival following.
