Sonny Landreth (born Clyde Vernon Landreth, February 1, 1951, in Canton, Mississippi) is an American blues and slide guitarist raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. Known for a distinctive technique in which he frets notes and chords behind the slide, he played in Clifton Chenier's Red Hot Louisiana Band before pursuing a solo career. His music draws on Louisiana blues, zydeco and Cajun influences.
