What's special
The Acadiana Pirate Festival is a young, community-run pirate day held at The Sidecar in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana. Launched in 2025 and returning for its second annual edition in July 2026, it packs a single venue and its shaded grassy grounds with live pirate performances and sea shanties, mermaid and belly dancers, costume contests, food and craft vendors, exotic-animal encounters, and a silent auction benefiting the local charity Hearts of Hope. All ages are welcome during the day, with the venue turning 18+ in the evening.

Early attendees describe it as a small but fun local outing, a shaded grassy area filled with vendors plus an indoor space with two bars and a stage, and Lafayette locals have been rooting for the new festival to grow.
