Amtrak serves Kansas City Union Station (30 W Pershing Rd, Kansas City, MO) with the Southwest Chief (Chicago-Los Angeles) and the Missouri River Runner (Kansas City-St. Louis). Union Station is on the Missouri side, about 12 miles from the KCKCC campus; from there connect via the free KC Streetcar into downtown and RideKC bus 101 (State Avenue) into Kansas City, KS, or take a ~20-min rideshare to campus

Intercity coaches (Greyhound and FlixBus) serve the Kansas City Bus Station at 1101 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO, with direct routes from Chicago, St. Louis, and other regional cities from around $8-30. The station is on the Missouri side, roughly 13 miles from the KCKCC campus, finish the trip via RideKC bus 101 from downtown or a rideshare
Book / info →RideKC bus 229 (Boardwalk-KCI) connects MCI's terminal to Kansas City, MO (roughly 50-60 min), where you can transfer to bus 101 (State Avenue), which runs 7 days a week along the State Avenue corridor and stops directly at Kansas City Kansas Community College, the festival venue. Expect a 2-bus, 1.5-2.5 hour trip in total. Note the festival's own travel page warns 'mass transit is virtually non-existent' for reaching the venue and recommends renting a car, the transit chain exists but is slow, so plan around hourly headways in February weather

Uber and Lyft both operate at MCI with designated app-ride pickup at the terminal; the ~23-mile run from MCI to the KCKCC campus in western Kansas City, KS takes about 25-35 minutes. The festival's own travel page cautions that ride share from the airport is 'available but expensive' and recommends a rental car instead, since the campus area has limited return-trip rideshare availability
