Each Memorial Day weekend, Fort Meigs stages its Grand Tactical, a two-day War of 1812 reenactment on the reconstructed 1813 battlefield along the Maumee River. Re-enactors from across the United States and Canada fill the military encampments for a parade of the armies, artillery and musket demonstrations, musical performances, site tours, and large-scale battle reenactments portraying the fort's sieges. It runs alongside the fort's regular offering of guided tours by costumed interpreters and its Legacy of Freedom War of 1812 museum, and press has called it the largest War of 1812 reenactment in North America.

Do I need a costume?
