The fifth annual Free State Yoga Festival ran on Saturday August 8, 2026 at Hometown Olathe Family Farm in Olathe, Kansas, a full day built around the question "what is love" and timed to the 8/8 Lions Gate. As of September 3, 2026 the official festival page still carries the 2026 programme and the 2026 ticket product remains listed with stock available; no 2027 date, page or announcement has been published. The page itself was last modified on August 6, 2026, two days before the festival.

What it stands for
The festival describes itself as a space to reconnect with yourself, your community and the life you are creating, rooted in the heart of Olathe and drawing on the energy, talent and passion of Kansas City's wellness community. The 2026 edition was themed around a single question, "what is love in your body, your relationships, and your life", and timed to the 8/8 date the organizer associates with the Lions Gate. Presenting teachers are individually selected, which the organizer says is how it keeps the day diverse, aligned and high quality, and the framing throughout is collaboration between studios rather than competition: "this is where yoga studios come together"

A single day yoga festival on a family farm and vineyard south of Kansas City, built as a collaboration of the region's wellness community rather than one studio's event. The shape is unusual and easy to plan around: a shared opening ceremony at 8 AM, a playful one mile to 5K fun run around the pond, a live music yoga class in the vines, then six hours of pick your own adventure running as six one-hour blocks with six parallel offerings each, and a closing sunset breathwork, meditation and sound bath in the vineyard. Alongside the movement sit wellness chats on human design, Ayurveda and conscious living, stand up paddleboard yoga on the water, a forest bathing walk, and a Zen Market of local wellness makers. The ticket also carries a free class pass to every supporting Kansas City studio

Every ticket carried a mat bag, YogaLove Magazine, a wellness guide and a free class pass to each supporting studio

Its page sets out the full 8 August 2026 schedule, what to bring and where to eat, but says nothing about terrain, accessible parking, drop off, accessible toilets, step-free routes, companion or carer tickets, teacher modifications, or chair and adaptive practice.

The venue does publish something. Hometown Olathe Family Farm's own FAQ page at https://hometownolathefamilyfarms.com/faqs carries a question asking whether their spaces are accessible, answered by the farm as: most of their facilities are accessible, including restrooms and main paths, and guests are invited to let them know if they or a guest need additional accommodations.
Read that carefully. It is the farm's statement, not the festival's; 'most' is not 'all', and it names restrooms and main paths only. It does not cover the practice areas the festival actually uses, which the festival's own page places in the vineyards, on a yoga hike, at a 5K route along the outer bank of the pond, and on the water.
Nothing at all is published about the paddleboard sessions from an access point of view: there is no description of how you reach the water, whether entry is from a dock, a ramp or a shore, what the shoreline surface is, whether transfer assistance or adaptive boards exist, or what depth or flotation support is provided.
The studio's separate SUP Yoga page describes the general practice as paddling to a quiet spot on the lake and anchoring boards or free-floating, which tells you the session happens away from the bank but nothing about getting there.
On the land side, the published schedule does list five or six options in every one of the six breakout blocks with SUP as only one of them, so a non-paddling programme visibly exists, but the festival does not state anywhere that a land alternative is guaranteed or that a SUP booking can be swapped.
A disabled attendee should treat water access as entirely unpublished and ask before buying
