Free State Yoga Festival in Olathe, KS is not currently confirmed to be running. Froligo tracks its status, history and similar festivals still happening.
What it stands for
The festival describes itself as a space to reconnect with yourself, your community and the life you are creating, rooted in the heart of Olathe and drawing on the energy, talent and passion of Kansas City's wellness community. The 2026 edition was themed around a single question, "what is love in your body, your relationships, and your life", and timed to the 8/8 date the organizer associates with the Lions Gate. Presenting teachers are individually selected, which the organizer says is how it keeps the day diverse, aligned and high quality, and the framing throughout is collaboration between studios rather than competition: "this is where yoga studios come together"
The experience
What's special
A single day yoga festival on a family farm and vineyard south of Kansas City, built as a collaboration of the region's wellness community rather than one studio's event. The shape is unusual and easy to plan around: a shared opening ceremony at 8 AM, a playful one mile to 5K fun run around the pond, a live music yoga class in the vines, then six hours of pick your own adventure running as six one-hour blocks with six parallel offerings each, and a closing sunset breathwork, meditation and sound bath in the vineyard. Alongside the movement sit wellness chats on human design, Ayurveda and conscious living, stand up paddleboard yoga on the water, a forest bathing walk, and a Zen Market of local wellness makers. The ticket also carries a free class pass to every supporting Kansas City studio
Last time around
The fifth annual edition ran all day on Saturday August 8, 2026 at Hometown Olathe Family Farm with more than 30 local teachers, healers and wellness leaders, 36 breakout offerings across six blocks, a fun run, live music yoga in the vines, a Zen Market and a closing sunset sound bath. Every ticket carried a mat bag, YogaLove Magazine, a wellness guide and a free class pass to each supporting studio

The practice
all levels. The day is built as a pick your own adventure: after a shared opening ceremony, fun run and a live music yoga class in the vineyard, six hours run as six one-hour breakout blocks with six parallel offerings each, so attendees choose their own intensity. Options in every block range from restorative and meditation to power flow, hip work, arm balances and stand up paddleboard yoga. SUP yoga is balance dependent and takes place on the water
Breathwork, chanting and repeated movements aimed at energy and focus more than a workout.
Long, passive floor holds that reach deep tissue. Slow, quiet and meditative.
Fully supported poses with props, built for rest and recovery rather than effort.
