The experience
What's special
The Hudson Valley Faerie Festival is a joyful one-day spring gathering at Forsyth Park in Kingston, NY, where families step into a living faerie realm rather than watch a show. Produced by the nonprofit Circle Creative Collective, the afternoon unfolds as a single shared story: guests get a map at the Welcome Tent, make natural wands and faerie crowns, sip color-changing tea at a faerie tea party, then gather to call in the Faerie Queen and her Court. From there the park fills with a Troll King, bubble and flower faeries, a faerie-house treasure hunt, storytellers and roaming musicians, closing with the March of the Faeries in which everyone walks together. Costumes are encouraged but never required, with wings to borrow at the welcome table. The inaugural 2026 festival drew over 1,200 guests; the next is set for June 5, 2027.
Last time around
The first Hudson Valley Faerie Festival, held May 30, 2026, at Forsyth Park in Kingston, gathered over 1,200 guests for an afternoon-long participatory faerie realm - crown making, a faerie tea party, the calling of the Faerie Queen and Court, roaming characters, a treasure hunt, storytelling and live music, ending with the March of the Faeries.

Lineup
Costumes & what to wear
Do I need a costume?
Dressing up is welcomed but optional, so guests who simply 'arrive as you are' become part of the story too; borrowable wings and adornments at the welcome table let anyone join in on the day without preparing a costume
Costume rules
Costumes are encouraged but never required; many guests arrive as faeries, woodland creatures, elves or forest wanderers, and wings and faerie adornments are usually available to borrow at the welcome table
Joining in
Framed as participatory theater on a park-wide scale rather than a stage show with passive spectators: the day unfolds as a single shared story that guests are inside from the opening welcome, through crown-making, the calling of the Faerie Queen and Court, a treasure hunt among faerie houses, and the closing March of the Faeries in which every guest takes part
