Indiana Yoga Flow and Fire Festival in Marengo, IN is not currently confirmed to be running. Froligo tracks its status, history and similar festivals still happening.
What it stands for
The festival frames the practice in its own terms: yoga as strength, flexibility and longevity for the body that houses the soul, and fire as the inner heat needed to burn away what prevents realising one's true nature. It positions itself as a place to reconnect with self and environment, with a stated culture of safety, temperance and community: illegal activity is not allowed and the organisers discourage intoxication
The experience
What's special
A small woodland gathering on a karst ridge in southern Indiana that pairs a full yoga schedule with flow arts and fire. Alongside chair classes and vigorous vinyasa there is a flow zone where instructors coach hoop and poi, nightly fire performances, fire safety instruction and a fire walking ceremony, a large Friday night sound bath, African drumming and drum circles, dharma talks, facilitated talking circles, group art projects and a children's tent. Camping and parking are included and the event was capped at 75 tickets

The practice
all levels. The organiser states the festival is suitable for beginners, that the schedule offers a variety of classes with several suitable for a first yoga class ever, and that anyone unable to sit on the ground should take the chair yoga class. Classes range from chair to vigorous vinyasa and everything in between
Slower, foundational postures held breath by breath. The classic starting point.
Flowing sequences that link breath to movement. Expect to move and sweat.
Poses adapted to a chair, accessible whatever your mobility.
Flowing sequences that link breath to movement. Expect to move and sweat.
Long, passive floor holds that reach deep tissue. Slow, quiet and meditative.
Fully supported poses with props, built for rest and recovery rather than effort.
Breathwork, chanting and repeated movements aimed at energy and focus more than a workout.
