The experience

What's special

Innings Festival mixes rock, pop and indie music with baseball on the shore of Tempe Town Lake, timed for Arizona's spring training season. The 2027 festival, February 26 to 28, brings The Strokes, Pitbull and Alanis Morissette to the top of a bill of more than 28 artists on three stages, including Pierce The Veil, The Neighbourhood, 5 Seconds of Summer, Train, Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol, Spoon and Shaggy. Between sets there are batting cages, a speed pitch and Off The Mound with Ryan Dempster, and food vendors cover vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

How it works

The three-day pass is $350 for general admission and GA+ $479, with prices shown including fees, layaway plans from $25 down, and two-day and one-day tickets also on sale. GA+ adds a shaded lounge, air-conditioned restrooms and its own bars. Children 8 and under get in free with a ticketed adult. There are free water refill stations, and lockers with phone charging can be rented.

Who it suits

Innings suits rock, pop and indie fans who want several headliners on three stages in one weekend by the lake, and baseball fans, who get to practice some of their own skills during the spring training tie-in. The stage areas can get crowded at big sets, so anyone who dislikes tight crowds may prefer to watch from the edges.

What people love

Attendees single out the headline sets, with one 2024 visitor calling a performance "face meltingly awesome" and others describing fans in good spirits. After crowding complaints in 2023, returning visitors said the 2024 festival listened: an extra entrance and shorter bar and restroom lines made the day much easier.

Getting there

How do I get to Innings Festival?

Transit is the easy way into Tempe Beach Park. The Mill Ave/3rd St light rail station serves the festival, the streetcar stops at the park, and a set of free park-and-ride lots feeds rail stations across Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa, though overnight parking at those lots is not allowed. There is no festival parking, so drivers use nearby city garages and metered streets, and several roads around Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue close for the weekend, which adds time to any drive or rideshare. Rideshare pickup details for 2027 were still to come. Check out each of the options below.

Where do most people stay?

Overnight stays are not allowed on the grounds or in the festival parking areas, so out-of-town visitors book a room in Tempe or elsewhere in the Phoenix area. The festival has an official hotel partner with a discount and a booking page for rooms, and short-term rentals are the other route. Check out each of the options below.

What to bring

Three afternoons and evenings outdoors beside Tempe Town Lake, with gates open from noon to 10:30 pm. Every bag is searched at the gate, so pack light.

Keep the bag smallEvery bag is searched before entry, so the quickest way in is to leave the bag at home. If you carry one, a small clutch or fanny pack avoids the clear-bag rule.
Full rule

Small clutch purses and fanny packs 6" x 9" or smaller do not need to be clear but can have no more than one pocket. All other bags larger than 6" x 9" must be smaller than 12" x 6" x 12" and clear. Hydration packs are allowed and do not need to be clear, but must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than two main compartments and one smaller compartment. The policy is subject to change.

Sun without the sprayAerosol sunscreen is banned, so pack lotion or a stick in a container of 3.4 ounces or less. Umbrellas, tents and shade structures are banned too, so a hat and sunglasses do the shade work, and a small personal misting fan is allowed if its bottle is empty on entry.
Full rule

Sunscreen in non-aerosol containers of 3.4 ounces or less is allowed. Personal misting fans with a bottle no larger than 1.5 L are allowed and must be empty on entry. Aerosol containers, umbrellas, and tents, canopies or shade structures of any kind (including chairs with shade structures) are prohibited.

Bring an empty bottleEmpty reusable water bottles, plastic or aluminum, and empty hydration packs get in, but outside food and drink does not. Factory-sealed electrolyte packets are allowed, so you can mix your own once you are inside.
Nothing takes cashThe festival is 100 percent cashless. Credit cards, debit cards and mobile payments work site wide, so bring a card or load a phone wallet.
A battery pack is worth itPortable battery packs are allowed in. If you pay with your phone all day and use it for the map and schedule, one keeps you going until the last set.
Medication goes through medical staffBring prescription medicine in its pharmacy-labeled container and show it to the medical staff at the gate, with only a day's supply. Over-the-counter medicine is also allowed in a day's supply.
Full rule

Anyone needing prescription medicine must present the pharmacy-labeled container showing the prescription, dosage and patient name to medical staff at each entrance gate, and may carry a sufficient supply for that day only. Medicines needing to be inhaled or smoked are prohibited unless in a prescribed inhaler. Over-the-counter medications are allowed in a sufficient supply for the day, and bottle contents are verified by medical personnel at the entry gates.
