International Yoga Day Miami comes to Miami, FL, Expected June. Froligo tracks free-entry details, attendee feedback and travel details.

What it stands for

The event is run by a South Florida nonprofit whose stated mission is to empower individuals and communities with tools for holistic health, spiritual growth and environmental preservation, guided by harmony, innovation and compassion, and creating spaces where ancient knowledge meets sustainable living. Its framing of community is that movement is the invitation, connection is the experience and community is the outcome. The festival translates the global International Yoga Day into what it calls a uniquely South Florida experience, diverse, vibrant, educational and accessible to all, and is deliberately not yoga only: the organiser answers the question directly by saying it is a health and wellness summit that also includes running, pilates, tai chi, workshops, panels and other fitness and wellness initiatives, so there is something for everyone

The experience

What's special

A free, entirely indoor two day wellness summit that fills a Miami fairground expo centre with 70 sessions across three stages and a VIP lounge, at the peak of a Florida June. The breadth is the point: a single Sunday runs 108 Surya Namaskars, Yin chakra reset, Kundalini, Bollywood dance, mat Pilates, Reiki, a slow beginners class taught in Spanish, mirror meditation with the Brahma Kumaris, Kriya Yoga with the Kriya Yoga Institute and a two hour Vedic fire practice split between inside and outside. Classes are free and drop in, so people build their own day, and the paid tiers buy a mat, a swag bag and express entry rather than access

Last time around

The organiser's own recap describes a 100,000 square foot indoor, air conditioned space over two days, free public admission, and more than 60 programming sessions covering yoga, meditation, breathwork, wellness education, partner activations, vendor experiences, community classes and age specific programming

The practice

Who it's for

beginner to advanced. The organiser describes the programme as diverse offerings from easy to advanced level classes, chair yoga and tai chi, animal yoga classes, wellness talks and panels, and says no prior yoga experience is required, just comfortable clothing and an open mind. Accessible programming for all ages and physical abilities is stated as a design intention. The schedule bears this out, running an accessible chair yoga session titled United in Movement alongside a 108 Surya Namaskar session that spans two hours

Accessibility & comfort

What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.

Disability accessThe organiser publishes no ADA statement, no accessible seating plan and no mobility information for International Yoga Day Miami. The one solid and useful access fact the organiser does publish is the nature of the space: Namaskar Foundation writes that the event "was hosted in a 100,000 sq. ft. indoor, air-conditioned space", and the promotional copy on namastelife.org calls it Florida's Largest Free Indoor Wellness Summit across three stages. So this is an indoor, air conditioned, exhibition hall event rather than an outdoor field, which removes the grass, slope and mud problems that dominate most yoga festivals; but nothing is published about accessible parking, accessible entrances, accessible toilets, step free routes between the two named halls (Arnold Hall and Fuch's Pavilion, both named on the event hub map section), companion or carer admission, or seating for people who cannot use a mat on the floor. On the venue side, the Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition publishes on its Getting Here page that "The handicap drop-off area is located in the front of the main entrance at the fairgrounds.", but the same page carries an explicit caveat immediately after it: "Vehicle entrances and locations for ride-share and handicap drop-off/pick-up listed above are only applicable for the annual Youth Fair and may not apply to Fair Expo Center events throughout the year." International Yoga Day is a Fair Expo Center event, not the Youth Fair, so a disabled visitor cannot rely on that drop off location and must confirm it. There is no accessibility page on fairexpo.com (the /plan/accessibility path returns the home page). The venue does run an Autism Friendly Sensory Room, but it is listed under the annual Youth Fair's Plan Your Visit section and there is nothing saying it operates for Expo Center events. One adaptive practice fact is worth having, taken from the organiser's own event hub schedule for the June 2026 edition rather than from any access statement. That schedule lists a session billed as United in Movement: Accessible Yoga For Resilience (Chair Yoga), taught by Mara Fowler. The session title and teacher were confirmed in the rendered event hub page on 3 September 2026; the event hub is script rendered, so this is invisible to a plain page fetch and no stored quote is anchored to it. A named chair yoga session is real adaptive provision and more than most festivals in this niche publish, but it is one line of a past edition's programme listing, not an access commitment. The organiser's wider claim that programming suits all physical abilities, and any reference to seated tai chi, could not be found on any live organiser page and must not be repeated as fact
Shade & heatEntirely indoors and air conditioned, which the organiser highlights repeatedly as the point of a June event in Miami
AgesEventbrite records the event as all ages. The VIP tier is 18+ only, and the organiser notes that some activities are 18 plus
ChildrenThe organiser explicitly invites children and describes family friendly and kids activations, a Kids Yoga Adventure class and family programming. Its own words are bring your kids, parents, friends, partners, colleagues, and everyone else you can think of

What to bring

A full weekend of practice is easier with your own kit. What earns its place in the bag:

Yoga Mat
Four rolled cotton yoga mats in pink, yellow, blue and blackYour own mat

Rentals sell out and shared mats are thin. Bring a grippy, cushioned mat you trust for a full weekend of practice.

Shop options
Four reusable water bottles in a rowWater and electrolytes

Vigorous flows plus dry, high-altitude air dehydrate fast.

Shop options
Stack of folded flannel shirts in blues and greensWarm layers

Studios and shade run cool between sessions even when the sun is hot.

Shop options
Recovery and comfort. An indoor, air conditioned two day summit in Miami in June, so the usual heat and sun problems do not apply; the trade off is a hard expo hall floor for classes that run back to back from 9am. A thicker mat or a folded blanket is worth more here than sun protection, and a light layer helps because the halls run cold. The come and go format means people build their own day across three stages and a VIP lounge, and the schedule stacks a 108 Surya Namaskar session, a power flow and mat Pilates alongside chair yoga, Yin, restorative sound baths and seated meditation, so a full day is easy to overdo. The organiser supplies no mats: a premium mat was sold as a $25 upgrade and given to VIPs, which implies attendees bring their own. Parking is $10 flat per car, and a free rideshare code was offered through the Fetii app in Miami-Dade and Broward

Shop links may earn Froligo a commission; they never change the price you pay.

Marketplace and vendors

The organiser describes a curated vendor marketplace of wellness focused brands, artisans and local businesses, covering sustainable products and conscious lifestyle goods, yoga apparel, recovery tools and holistic health services, Ayurvedic, plant based and natural living resources, and community organisations sharing education and outreach programmes. The organiser's own site keyword copy claims 120 brands. No trader list is published; the venue maps that would have shown the marketplace layout are published only as images
