The experience

What's special

The Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire was Central Florida's autumn faire: a small, casual renaissance village themed as Avalon, staged the first two weekends of each November in a shaded woodland near Tavares - a rarity among Florida's mostly open-field faires - with daily jousting tournaments, combat demonstrations, musical acts on multiple stages, and over 100 performers from knights and pirates to fire-eaters. Organized by the Education Foundation of Lake County as a benefit event, it moved to its Sherwood Forest site in 2014 and grew to two weekends. The faire was cancelled for 2026 after the organizer lost access to the site, leaving its future uncertain; a separate indoor renaissance fair at a local mall was announced in its wake.

What people love

Regulars loved it as the small faire with a big heart - many attended every year, describing a casual, friendly atmosphere where it was easy to make friends, plenty of vendors and shows for its size, a proper joust, celebrated turkey legs and mead, and the woodland setting whose tree shade set it apart from Florida's field faires. The practical caveat was the site itself: field parking that turned muddy or dusty with the weather.

Last time around

The 2025 faire, held November 1-2 and 7-9, turned out to be the last for now - regional coverage that fall described daily jousting tournaments, combat demonstrations, and musical acts filling the lanes, and attendees closed the season not knowing the site would be lost; by the following June the 2026 edition was cancelled.
