The experience
What's special
The State Fair of Louisiana runs from late October into mid-November in Shreveport, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout, so the run spans eighteen calendar days across fourteen open days. Gate admission is free until three in the afternoon every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with adult pricing after that running from ten dollars on Wednesday and Thursday up to seventeen dollars on Friday through Sunday; pre-sale buyers pay eleven dollars fifty before the fair opens. Carnival rides are priced separately from gate admission, sold as a bundled Pay One Price wristband only during pre-sale or as a standalone thirty-eight dollar wristband at the Carnival Kiosk once the fair is running, operated by Talley Amusements with rides including The Beast and the Iron Dragon Roller Coaster
