The experience

What's special

The Mississippi Renaissance Festival was a community non-profit Renaissance faire on the Gulf Coast, held at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Gulfport. Set in the year 1306 amid an England, Scotland and Norway conflict, it organized the grounds into four themed Towne Squares, Scotland, England, Norway and Pirate Alley, each with its own pub, live bands, dancers and tournaments, alongside kid-friendly features like a Dragon Quest, a Fairy Tale Tea Party and a Grimm's Forest. As an educationally based non-profit, it put unusual emphasis on sensory and accessibility support, including color-coded townes for non-verbal guests, ASL interpreters, safe-haven and sensory areas, and soft tagless shirts. The festival's public materials remained fixed on its October 2023 weekend, and a fair directory later listed it as no longer active.

What people love

The small number of visitor remarks that surfaced were positive, describing awesome and welcoming people and a unique, fun experience, but attendee feedback is too thin to characterize the festival in detail.
