What's special
MomoCon is an all-ages anime, gaming, comics and animation convention held every May at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta. It grew out of a Georgia Tech student anime club and has run since 2005, reaching over 67,000 attendees in 2026 by the organizer's own count; the 2027 edition runs May 27 through 30 in the GWCC's Building B, a venue the organizer highlights for its natural light, a three-story glass fountain and an outdoor koi-pond courtyard available for cosplay photos
What people love
The organizer states over 70 percent of attendees cosplay, supported by two separate costume contests (a Saturday Cosplay Showcase judged on spirit and screen accuracy, and a Sunday Craftsmanship Cosplay Contest offering $5,000 in cash prizes judged on hand-made construction), a Cospitality repair lounge running all four days, and a detailed, Georgia-law-based prop and weapons policy covering everything from bows and chains to realistic prop firearms
