The experience
What's special
The New Music Miami ISCM Festival, presented by the Miami Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music at Florida International University, brings internationally recognized composers and performers of new music to Miami Beach every winter, and 2027 is its 30th edition. Concerts run on Wednesday evenings from January 13 to March 24 at the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU. FIU's Artist-in-Residence Ensemble, the Amernet String Quartet, opens the festival with composer Andrew Waggoner on January 13, followed by Hub New Music on January 20, pianist Anthony de Mare on February 10, NODUS Chamber Music Ensemble's North South program on February 24 and BlackBox Ensemble on March 24.
How it works
Every event is free and open to the public, with an RSVP through Eventbrite for each concert. Each evening opens with a pre-concert discussion at 7:00 PM, with the performance at 7:30 PM, and the programs center on contemporary composition and living composers. The Avalon Hotel Miami Beach on Ocean Drive is the festival's official host hotel.
