What's special
The Oklahoma Highland Gathering is a three-day Scottish festival at Choctaw Creek Park in Choctaw, run by the United Scottish Clans of Oklahoma and modeled after Scotland's famous Braemar Gathering. It pairs an internationally sanctioned Highland games of caber toss and hammer throw with massed pipes and drums, Highland dancing, a Scottish Clan Row, whisky tastings and cultural demonstrations from blacksmithing to sheep herding and falconry

The gathering is an IHGF-sanctioned Highland games modeled after Scotland's Braemar Gathering, with heavy events including the caber toss, sheaf toss, hammer throw, stone put, weight over bar and weight for distance

Massed pipes and drums and Highland dancing feature across the weekend, with opening ceremonies where clans and pipe bands parade

A Scottish Clan Row offers ancestry and family-history resources, and clans join the opening parade and presentation of the clans
