The experience
What's special
Billed by its organisers as the longest-running yoga festival in the United States, it is held each June at roughly 9,000 feet in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. Four days bring 50+ presenters and musicians and over 150 offerings across a walkable resort-village campus: ballroom classes and mountaintop meditations, kirtan and DJ-backed flows, wisdom talks, sound baths, and add-on adventures from SUP and aerial yoga to e-bike tours and a high-alpine fondue hike. A free gondola stitches the venues together, and the whole town of Telluride, 45 miles from the nearest stoplight, does the rest
What people love
Attendees single out the intimacy and the setting. A presenter quote on the official homepage calls it "the most intimate setting for a yoga festival that I have ever experienced. . it feels like a village of friends and family," and public reviews praise the location, people and teachers
Last time around
The 18th annual edition ran June 25-28, 2026 with about 50 presenters in the Sched directory and 158 scheduled offerings across Yoga (63), Specialty Classes (21), Free Community Events (16), Hikes/Walks (15), Sound & Rhythm (13), Wisdom Talks (9), Meditation & Breathwork (7), Thursday Adventures (4), Immersions (4), Multi-Modal (3), Social Gatherings (2) and Self-Care (1). Featured presenters included Janet Stone, Elena Brower, Kirra Michel, Kia Miller, Faith Hunter, Gina Caputo, Kristin McGee and Lara Heimann

The practice
all levels to advanced options. The 2026 program ran from restorative formats (Yoga Nidra, sound baths, savasana specials) to physically demanding offerings (inversions immersions, power vinyasa, high-alpine hikes, SUP and aerial yoga). The campus sits at roughly 9,000 ft; the organizer notes mountain weather and recommends hiking shoes and layers for outdoor sessions
A set sequence practiced with breath, gaze and posture working together. Disciplined and physical.
Flowing sequences that link breath to movement. Expect to move and sweat.
Slower, foundational postures held breath by breath. The classic starting point.
Fully supported poses with props, built for rest and recovery rather than effort.
Guided lying-down meditation on the edge of sleep. No movement at all.
Vinyasa at half speed, with more time in each pose.
