What to eat & drink

The organiser's own ticket page points to grabbing a Fisher Scone as part of a classic day at the Fair. Dozens of named food vendors are listed on the Fair's food page, including BBQ Pete's (its own 'Fair Sauce' a South Sound original since 1972), Cow Chip Cookies (baked at the Fair since 1982), and Earthquake's Biggest Burgers. The Fair Value Menu offers $8 Deals and $12 Meals every weekday at participating vendors.

The experience

What's special

The 2026 Washington State Fair ran September 4 through 27 at the Washington State Fair Event Center in Puyallup, closed every Tuesday plus a one-off closure the Wednesday after Labor Day. Gate admission ran across four published tiers depending on weekday versus weekend and advance versus at-the-gate purchase, from fifteen dollars for an online weekday adult ticket up to twenty dollars for an at-the-gate weekend adult ticket, with kids five and under always free and a twenty-day unlimited Season Pass available for fifty nine dollars fifty. Carnival rides in ThrillVille and SillyVille, concert tickets to the Columbia Bank Concert Series, the Puyallup Rodeo, and parking in one of four named lots were each a separate purchase from gate admission, though both concert and rodeo tickets bundled in Fair admission for the day

What people love

The organiser points fairgoers toward a Fisher Scone as a classic bite between rides, alongside long-running vendor traditions like BBQ Pete's own Fair Sauce (a South Sound original since 1972) and Cow Chip Cookies, baked at the Fair since 1982; three Dancin' in the Dirt concerts after select rodeo performances brought Chase Rice, Dylan Marlowe and Gretchen Wilson to the dirt floor of the Columbia Bank Grandstand

Last time around

The organiser describes the Washington State Fair as welcoming over a million guests every September as a standing claim rather than a single-edition figure; no 2026-specific attendance total was found on the pages checked
