Chris Botti is an American jazz trumpeter and composer born in 1962 in Portland, Oregon, known for a lyrical, romantic tone that made him one of his generation's most successful crossover instrumentalists. He worked as a session and touring musician, including years in Paul Simon's band, before his solo career took off, and he won the Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album for his 2012 record Impressions.
