The Count Basie Orchestra is an American jazz big band established in 1935 by pianist and bandleader William 'Count' Basie in Kansas City. One of the most enduring ensembles in jazz, it has won numerous Grammy Awards across its history and has been directed since 2013 by trumpeter Scotty Barnhart.
