Bio

Ekep Nkwelle is a Cameroonian-American jazz vocalist born and raised in Washington, D.C. She studied at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Howard University, and the Juilliard School, and was the lead soloist in Howard's vocal jazz ensemble Afro Blue. In 2023 she placed second in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition.
