Bio
Marquis Hill is an American jazz trumpeter and composer born in 1987 and raised on the South Side of Chicago. He earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Northern Illinois University and a master's in jazz pedagogy from DePaul University, and won the 2014 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition. He leads the ensemble known as the Blacktet and moved to New York City in 2014.
