Megadeth is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1983 by guitarist and singer Dave Mustaine after his departure from Metallica. Playing thrash metal, the group is counted among the genre's "big four" alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. It won a Grammy Award in 2017 for the song "Dystopia."
