Nat Adderley Jr. is an American pianist, arranger and music director born in 1955 in Quincy, Florida. He is the son of cornetist Nat Adderley and nephew of saxophonist Cannonball Adderley, and earned a degree in African American studies from Yale University. He became music director for Luther Vandross in 1981 and worked with the singer for much of his career, arranging and co-writing numerous recordings.
