The Special Consensus is an American bluegrass band founded in 1975 in Chicago, Illinois, and led throughout its history by banjoist Greg Cahill. The long-running group has toured internationally and recorded numerous albums over five decades; Cahill is a recipient of the IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award.
