The experience

What's special

Anthro New England, founded in 2014 with its inaugural event held in 2015 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, now runs from two hotels across the street from each other in Boston's Seaport district: the Westin Boston Seaport District and the Omni Boston at the Seaport. The organizer describes it as 'currently one of the 10th largest furry conventions in the world.' The 2027 edition, themed Sleepytime, runs January 14 to 17 and names three Guests of Honor: Boston-based illustrator SnackPony, Boston-based artist and apparel designer PrismPaws, and California-based voice actor Sean Chiplock

Accessibility & comfort

What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.

Disability access

The organizer states both main hotels are 'very accessible-friendly,' with all floors, restaurants, meeting spaces and pools accessible, and accessible rooms available via elevator in the room block at both the Westin and Omni (and, per the Accessibility Information page, the Aloft, Element, a Renaissance, and a Hampton Inn overflow properties).

Read the full notes

Accessible-room requests are handled directly with each hotel at booking or by phone; attendees unable to get an accessible room can call the hotel to be placed on a cancellation list. The convention itself offers line priority for registration, events and elevators for attendees with disabilities and assistive devices

Quiet & supportThe Westin and Omni each offer 'Night Owl' and Quiet Floors for attendees staying in the room block; guests do not pre-select a preference when booking, but inform the hotel front desk at check-in, and noise levels are 'strictly enforced' on quiet floors
ASLASL interpretation is available on a first-come, first-served basis for attendees who wish to have interpretation at events and panels, and is guaranteed present at both the opening and closing ceremonies
Ages

Attendees aged 14-17 may attend without a parent/guardian present if they bring a completed, notarized Minor Consent Form; attendees under 14 require a parent/guardian present at all times. Age is fixed as of the first day of the convention: a 17-year-old on day one keeps a Minor badge for the whole weekend even if they turn 18 during it.

The Outer Limits is a separate 18-plus space/vendor area

Children

Minor Attendee 'The Snuggle Bug' badges: ages 11-17 $60 (includes two free parent/guardian registrations), ages 0-10 free. Masks are required only within the Vendor Hall and Art Show, 'out of respect and preference of our vendors,' and encouraged elsewhere given the convention's winter timing

Confirm your specific needs with the organiser's access team before you travel.
