The experience

What's special

Further Confusion, often shortened to FurCon or FC, is an annual furry convention held at the San Jose Convention Center in downtown San Jose, California. It is produced by Anthropomorphic Arts and Education, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit for which the convention was the first and remains the largest sponsored event, run by a team the organizer describes as more than 250 volunteers. The organizer states the convention draws 'an attendance of over 4,000 and growing.' The 2027 edition runs January 14 to 18 and offers five-day Attendee, Sponsor, Super Sponsor and Benefactor memberships alongside single-day Friday, Saturday and Sunday passes; children 12 and under attend free with a Kid-in-Tow badge

Accessibility & comfort

What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.

Disability access

An Accessibility desk operates near Con Ops for at-con assistance; services include help with lines (escort to the front or a chair, from any nearby volunteer), reserved accessible seating, and hotel accommodation requests (room, floor or refrigerator needs) routed to [email protected].

Attendees with accessibility needs may bring a caregiver to accompany them under a copy of their own badge (in a different label colour) at no extra membership cost, provided the caregiver stays with them at all times

ASLASL interpretation is stated to be available at-con; requests can be made at the Accessibility desk, by email, or directly through the organizer's 'Nerdterpreters' interpreter team
Ages

Attendees 13-17 receive badges allowing access to all convention features except those marked for mature audiences only (some panels and Art Show sections); dealers are required to restrict mature materials from minor-badge holders.
