Furry Weekend Atlanta, run by Furry Weekend Atlanta, Inc., began in 2004 with 270 attendees and has since moved its calendar twice: from a February date around Valentine's Day through 2008, to late March or early April from 2009, and since 2019 to Mother's Day weekend, where the 2027 edition sits, running May 6 to 9 across six downtown Atlanta hotels. The organizer reports the 2024 edition drew over 15,000 attendees across four hotels. Registration offers a single 4-day pass across Standard, Sponsor, Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers, and a signature off-site evening, the Aquarium Takeover at the Georgia Aquarium, is sold as its own separate ticket with General Admission and 21-plus VIP tiers
