Festival at Sandpoint

Sandpoint has its own Amtrak station (SPT, 450 Railroad Ave, downtown, roughly a mile from War Memorial Field). From GEG you first cover the ~8 mi to Spokane's downtown Amtrak station (SPK) by taxi/rideshare or STA bus, then ride one stop east. The catch is timing: the Empire Builder passes through in the middle of the night in both directions (eastbound calls at Spokane ~1:15-1:30 AM, arriving Sandpoint ~2:20-2:30 AM; the westbound return leaves Sandpoint late-night). Practical for through-riders from Seattle/Portland/Chicago; awkward as a pure airport connector

There is NO through public-transit link from Spokane Airport to Sandpoint, STA buses only connect the airport to downtown Spokane. Once in Sandpoint, though, SPOT is 'the fast, fun, and free way to get around the Sandpoint area': fare-free fixed routes around Sandpoint and neighboring towns, with a live map and mobile apps. SPOT also operates the festival's free concert-day parking shuttle (see parking)

Demand-based door-to-door shuttle service between the Sandpoint area and Spokane International Airport (GEG), booked by phone (208-627-1551) or via the contact form on the operator's site. Per the airport's ground-transportation page, 'Lyft and Uber are available at designated areas of the terminal' and curbside taxi service is centrally located at the terminal (509-455-6490). It is a ~75 mi one-way trip to Sandpoint. For the return, rideshare availability inside small-town Sandpoint can be thin, prebooking a local shuttle/taxi operator is the safer move

Sandpoint is a small lake-resort town and the Summer Series lands in peak season (late July-early August, 11 nights), so vacation-rental supply spans waterfront homes to in-town apartments but tightens early, with peak-season premium pricing the norm, book well ahead for festival dates. Local guides also point to standing alternatives like Sleeps Cabins (waterfront, Lake Pend Oreille) and Western Pleasure Guest Ranch (~16 mi NE)

Strong Hipcamp market around Sandpoint (verified live directory, ~20 listings): private-land sites and glamping (e.g. Turnipseed Creek Campsites, Sacred Cedars, The Woods in Sagle, yurts/bell tents), plus Round Lake State Park (~10 mi SW), Farragut State Park, Priest Lake State Park, and Idaho Panhandle National Forests camping, a genuine budget alternative to hotels since the festival itself offers no camping
