Bumbershoot is Seattle's long-running Labor Day weekend music and arts festival, held at Seattle Center in the shadow of the Space Needle since 1971. Bumbershoot publishes a detailed accessibility guide. The event is held primarily on cement, with stages and other guest areas on natural grassy terrain, and accessible routes connect parking, entrances, stages, accessible viewing areas and vendors.

Accessible parking is limited, first come first served and paid, at Level 1 of the Mercer Street Garage (not van accessible due to height restrictions), the 5th Avenue garage, the 5th Avenue Memorial Stadium Lot and the 1st Avenue garage.
There is an Accessibility Loading and Unloading Zone for drop off and pick up at the MoPop Turnaround on 5th Ave and Harrison near the GREEN GATE. Accessible entry lanes are at both entrances, GREEN GATE and RED GATE, for a guest with a disability and up to one companion.
Free accessibility wristbands and one companion wristband per disabled guest are issued onsite at an Accessibility Services Hub; there is no pre-registration and no accessibility ticket to buy. Accessible viewing areas are at designated stages, first come first served, and a spot is released if a guest is away longer than 60 minutes.
Seattle Center lends a limited number of wheelchairs from the Armory Customer Service booth with photo ID. The festival runs no transport between stages. Access questions go to [email protected]
There is a quiet room inside the Armory in Room 301 on the 3rd floor, designated for people with sensory sensitivities who need a space to decompress. A limited number of sensory kits can be checked out with valid ID at the Accessibility Services Hub between the Fountain and Fisher stages and in the quiet room
ASL interpretation and live captioning are available on request under Effective Communication Requests, along with large format print or braille literature, guided tours for guests with visual disabilities and assistive listening devices.
Requests should be made no later than 30 days before the event, with a stated cutoff of August 1st, 2026, and guests check in at an Accessibility Services Hub on arrival
