SF Bay BIPOC Yoga Conference's next dates haven't been announced yet. The last festival was 5 to 6 September 2026 in Berkeley, CA. Froligo tracks current ticket prices, attendee feedback and travel details.

What it stands for

The organizers describe the conference as a space for people of color to expand their understanding and practice of yoga beyond the physical postures, and say they are decolonizing yoga by honoring its true purpose and cultural roots. The About page names what it is set up to avoid: microaggressions, isolation and a version of yoga stripped of its cultural context. Allies are welcomed on stated terms, which the organizer defines as non BIPOC people who recognize their privilege and allow people of the global majority to take space

The experience

What's special

A two day, BIPOC led yoga conference held indoors at The Berkeley Alembic in west Berkeley, built around the parts of yoga that a posture class usually leaves out. The published grid opens with Anjali Rao on storytelling as a liberatory practice, drawn from her book Yoga As Embodied Resistance, and runs on through a pranayama immersion, an Ayurveda workshop, an introduction to teaching restorative yoga, kirtan and a closing sound bath. Passes start at $25 for a single day

The published programme is lecture, discussion, breath practice, Ayurveda, restorative yoga teaching, kirtan and a sound bath rather than a vigorous asana schedule, with a 90 minute lunch break on each day. The organizer says both seasoned practitioners and people new to yoga are catered for, and the Eventbrite FAQ answers 'I'm new to yoga. Is this for me?' with 'Totally!
