Texas Yoga Retreat returns to Austin, TX, Oct 16 to 18, 2026. Froligo tracks ticket prices, attendee feedback and travel details.
What it stands for
The stated vision is building a caring and inclusive yoga community, with programming that honours the full spectrum of yoga styles, abilities and backgrounds and a promise that everyone is welcome. The organisers frame the weekend as being as much about the relationships formed around the edges of class, over meals, on walks and in conversation, as about what happens on the mat, and trace a 25 year legacy of service back through the Austin Free Day of Yoga. Ashram customs shape the weekend: modest dress outdoors, no shoes indoors, vegetarian food only, and no smoking, alcohol or recreational drugs
The experience
What's special
A three day residential yoga gathering held every October at a Hindu ashram in the Texas Hill Country, one of the longest running in the South. Despite the name it is an open registration public event with a conference shaped schedule: 21 presenters, four parallel tracks across Lotus Hall, two Ancient Yoga Center rooms and an outdoor lake venue, and around 45 sessions covering vinyasa, Ashtanga, Kundalini, chair yoga, yoga therapy, philosophy, sound and breathwork, Qi Gong, labyrinth walking and teaching business workshops. All classes are approved for Yoga Alliance continuing education and selected classes carry International Association of Yoga Therapists credit. You do not sign up for classes in advance; you simply show up, and if a room is full priority goes by arrival. Registration covers every class and every meal

The practice
all levels. The organiser describes an annual yoga retreat for all bodies and all levels and says beginners and seasoned practitioners alike will find a home. Classes marked with a diamond on the schedule indicate a strong or challenging practice, with the note to be prepared to work and rest any time you need it
Flowing sequences that link breath to movement. Expect to move and sweat.
Long, passive floor holds that reach deep tissue. Slow, quiet and meditative.
Fully supported poses with props, built for rest and recovery rather than effort.
A set sequence practiced with breath, gaze and posture working together. Disciplined and physical.
Breathwork, chanting and repeated movements aimed at energy and focus more than a workout.
Poses adapted to a chair, accessible whatever your mobility.
