No rail reaches Vail itself. The nearest Amtrak station is Glenwood Springs, ~60 road miles west of Vail on I-70, served daily in each direction by the California Zephyr (Chicago-Denver-Glenwood Springs-San Francisco Bay). From the Glenwood Springs area, Bustang's West Line and Greyhound/FlixBus both run east to the Vail Transportation Center (~1-1.5 hr). Mainly relevant for West Coast/Utah-origin travelers or anyone wanting the famously scenic Glenwood Canyon rail approach Denver-origin passengers should just take Bustang direct rather than backtracking

Colorado DOT's Bustang West Line runs the I-70 corridor from Denver Union Station (Gate B19, alternate stop Denver Federal Center Gate L) direct to the Vail Transportation Center the stop is a 10-minute walk or free bus from the amphitheater. Adult single-ride fare Denver to Vail is $17.00, roughly hourly departures through the day, ~2h20m runtime. From DEN airport, connect to Union Station on RTD's A Line commuter rail (airport fare applies). Tickets online or via the JustRideBustang app

Slower and less frequent than Bustang but sometimes cheaper booked early, and the same network continues west to Glenwood Springs for the Amtrak connection below

Core Transit's Valley route serves Eagle County Regional Airport directly and runs the Gypsum-Eagle-Edwards-Avon-Beaver Creek-Vail corridor, ending at the Vail Transportation Center. Most Core Transit routes are fare-free, but airport stops carry a fare: '$3/per ride for adults' and 'Kids 18 & under ride for free', purchased 'through our mobile app, available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store'. Luggage is allowed on the bus but must stay under the passenger's control. From the Vail Transportation Center it's the festival's own '10-minute walk from the Vail Village Parking Structure' to the amphitheater, or the free Town of Vail in-town/event bus (see the venue-access entry below)

Recorded here because every longer-haul mode above/below terminates at the Vail Transportation Center, and this is the last-mile answer: the Town of Vail's free in-town buses serve the village year-round, and on paid amphitheater event nights dedicated event buses run between the Lionshead Transit Center, Vail Village Transportation Center and the Ford Park lot. 'ADA carts will be offered from the Ford Park lot bus stop to the Gerald Ford Amphitheater upon request.' Walking is equally practical: the festival's own guidance is a '10-minute walk from the Vail Village Parking Structure' along Gore Creek, and it recommends allowing 30 minutes total to park, ride/walk and find seats

No festival-OPERATED airport shuttle exists, but the festival's own Getting Here page names Epic Mountain Express as a recommended ground-transport provider.
